Hi, I’m Alex and I’m an assistant professor of philosophy at The University at Buffalo and a visiting researcher in the Department of Economics at New York University. After completing my dissertation at the University of Arizona under the supervision of David Schmidtz, I was postdoctoral research fellow at New York University's Classical Liberal Institute.

My research focuses on social complexity and the social contract. When writing on both topics, I aim to put philosophy in dialogue with social science. So, most of my work ends up falling within the subfield of Philosophy, Politics, and Economics — usually called "PPE".

I won’t discuss hobbies here because that is unprofessional. Also, I don’t have any.
